Founded in 1999 as Kansas City Ethio Lions, we are a non-profit club dedicated to providing an enriching and competitive experience for youth across Kansas and Missouri who love soccer, regardless of background or athletic ability. For us, winning means serving our community, developing our players, and excelling in the ESFNA soccer tournament.
Kansas City Ethio Lions Soccer Club is an adult soccer club based in Kansas and Missouri with deep roots in the Ethiopian community. We bring people together through the love of soccer.
Beyond playing and teaching youth soccer for free, our mission is to serve the Ethiopian community by helping our players and youth develop into well-rounded individuals who value respect, dedication, and good sportsmanship.
We are committed to making soccer accessible to all Ethiopian players in the Kansas and Missouri areas, regardless of background or athletic ability. As a registered non-profit, we participate in local leagues and national tournaments, with our primary event being the ESFNA, which we joined in 2010.
To provide a positive, fun, and developmentally appropriate soccer experience, fostering a love of the sport within the Ethiopian community. To promote sportsmanship, fair play, community-building, and volunteerism among our members.
We actively engage with the Ethiopian community, fostering strong partnerships with local Ethiopian churches, mosques, and businesses. In addition, we collaborate with a wide network of other local businesses, working together to create meaningful opportunities and strengthen community bonds. Through these relationships, we aim to build a supportive environment that enhances cultural exchange and contributes to the overall well-being of our community.
